While it seems to be secure, once the locket is in the closed position (where it stays) it can be difficult to open again without some force that I don’t feel comfortable exerting. Additionally, rear of chain has had two links bridged via antique cord that at least blends well with the rest of the construction. Chain measures 19.75” long with cable links arranged in a graduated setting finishing in a dramatic Y-drop chain in the center from which the locket hangs. Locket is monogrammed with tested solid 14kt gold inlay in perfect shape. Interior is fitted with a ring of 14K under which a photograph is housed. Opposite side is a panel of bright red silk fabric. Weight is 36.93 grams.
