There are 10 holes for suspending chains. Done in the Biedermeier style and dates to between 1807 and 1866 with the most likely year being 1827 but it’s difficult to be exactly certain since the date mark is partially obscured however the cartouche and hallmarking system gives us the above range. The town mark of F1 indicates production in historical and empirical Olmütz (present day Olomouc, Czech Republic, then part of the Austrian Empire) and number 13 “loth” mark indicates silver fineness of 812. Acid testing confirms purity to be in that range. There is an unknown maker’s mark on the opposite side of the clip. Weight is 9.15 grams.
